Two members of the internationally acclaimed Pearl of Africa Children's Choir, today received Bedlington Town FC strips from Bedlington Town Vipers' Under 9's manager, David Langhorne.
The boys, Nelson and Andrew, are staying with Vipers' Captain, James Kirby and his family, while the choir perform the first week, of the first leg, of their Northern tour.
The boys thoroughly enjoyed a 'kick-about' with the Bedlington Town Vipers and their own passion for football really showed through. Many thanks to everyone for making them feel so welcome and for your generosity!
The Pearl of Africa Choir is made up of children, young adults and staff from the Molly and Paul Child Care Foundation (MPCCF) schools in Uganda.
MPCCF is a Ugandan NGO and does extremely valuable work in educating approximately 2,200 children from a severely disadvantaged background, many of them orphans or otherwise destitute. They work in two areas of Uganda; namely greater Kampala (in Kibuye, Kansanga and Busega) and Masaka (in Kamuzinda).
The care that MPCCF offers extends beyond just the education of the children in primary and secondary schools, and includes; housing in communal homes, feeding, vocational education and medical care.
