About BTFC

Bedlington Town FC. (BTFC) formed as recently as June 2010, with the club achieving FA Charter Standard as quickly as August 2010. In an extremely short space of time, the club has gone from concept to over 270 youngsters within the club setting up 5 girls and 5 boys teams in the process, all between U7-U16 yrs, with each squad competing in local leagues under the guidance of fully-qualified volunteer coaches.

BTFC, aim to give children from the local area an opportunity to enjoy being part of a football club which develops their technique, skills and fitness in a safe and positive environment. Whilst football is the centre of the clubs activities, being involved in a club and a team also teaches youngsters many social skills including teamwork, reliance and reliability, responsibility, tolerance, understanding, friendship and loyalty. BTFC also provides a social environment for the children and parents alike, with the club organising many events which youngsters and adults can enjoy together.

Being only 10 months old BTFC have the immediate goal of growing the number of both girls and boys teams within the club, initially between U6-U17years, where every young player has the best training equipment, strips, tracksuits and pitches. The club have also embarked on a project, working with local schools, to set up a Soccer School programme for children as BTFC firmly believe the local community will and must benefit from closer links between the club and its schools. BTFC are striving towards achieving "Community Club Standard" status, with the longer-term goal of providing opportunities for all able-bodied and disabled youngsters.
